Description

An isotonic diluent may be used for suspension and dilution of bacterial cells to provide a concentration suitable for microscopic observation, determination of cell numbers, analysis for genetic or metabolic properties, washing cells preparatory to study, or preparation of standardized inocula.

Normal saline solution is routinely used as a diluent to adjust the turbidity of bacterial cell suspensions to help maintain cell integrity and viability.

Specimen transport medium can be used for testing, including specific Molecular Antigen and Antibody testing.

Available in the following sizes: V458-3 (3ml), 100 units per case.
